Heavens Roses
© 2007 Teddie Cochran

v.1
As I walk down the path
To the road you once walked
Roses guide me along the way
The nodding of the heads
Of strangers that I meet
As the stagecoach stand waiting
In the wind

v.2
I look around in disbelief
Of the place that I am bound
A single rose is handed to me
I close my eyes, thank the Lord
For the bounty that I've found
As the stagecoach rounds the bend
And stops again

C.
Heavens roses line the dusty streets
Of this sleepy town
Tended by the love
Of sinners as they weep
Their teardrops fertile on the ground
They pray in the hope
The roses that they keep
Will give them passage
To the kingdom of the Lord

v.3
The stage takes a sudden jolt
As a soldier sits down
In his rose he finds tranquility
He speaks of war and hell he faced
As he fades off to sleep
The stagecoach winds along
the dusty trail

C.
Heavens roses line the dusty streets
Of this sleepy town
Tended by the love
Of sinners as they weep
Their teardrops fertile on the ground
They pray in the hope
The roses that they keep
Will give them passage
To the kingdom of the Lord

Repeat Chorus:

Heavens roses line the dusty street
In the kingdom of the Lord
